Don’t Let Me Down

"Don’t Let Me Down" is an installation about the feeling of doing a task that never ends. By placing a body inside the machine, the work makes visible the repetitive labour that so often falls to women. It is sometimes accompanied by a live dance performance. The title speaks to a feeling that goes both ways: we take on this work because we don’t want to let our community down, yet that same community lets us down by expecting it of us.
